Make a Nuit Américaine

Make a portrait a la Nuit Américaine.
‘Nuit Américaine’ is the French name for film scenes that are shot with a special filter ‘during the day’ and after editing look like night scenes in the film. As a photographer you can use a flash to get the same effect.
How do you get that typical dark ‘Nuit Américaine’ sky with a sharp flash in the foreground?
– Set your flash unit to the same aperture as the measured aperture of the available light.
– The shutter speed of your camera; measured from your available light; but; underexposed by 2 apertures.
Brainstorm about the theme of Lovingtolearnyoumore. What does it mean to you? What feelings or images does it evoke in you? Visualise beforehand the one image that would touch you the most and go out shooting!
